This quote from Captain Kathryn Janeway from Star Trek Voyager has been a beacon in my design career. I realized that wielding logic as a tool to advocate for users can indeed shape both functionality and experience positively. However, it has the potential to lead to errors and failures if not tempered with consideration and empathy. Thus, I continually scrutinize my designs to find an equilibrium between user experience, constraints, and impact, regardless of whether the context is business or academic. This philosophical approach serves as my design motto.
